WEDDING IN FRANCE – CLERMONT DE L’OISE, NEAR PARIS

Eva and Mathieu celebrated their wedding in Clermont de L’Oise, a picturesque town north of Paris where they normally live. Mathieu comes from an Indian family, so the wedding also had some elements of an Indian wedding and a strong multicultural character, as is French society in general, which today has elements of many cultures.

First they celebrated the civil ceremony in the town hall (hôtel-de-ville) and then the religious ceremony in the impressive 14th century Saint Samson church in the old town of Clermont.

France boasts numerous gorgeous backdrops, not just limited to Paris. Small towns offer stunning scenery, historic architecture, and idyllic landscapes. Whether it’s a vineyard, a riverside château, or a rustic farmhouse, these locations provide unique and memorable settings for your wedding day.

The party began with a cocktail in the gardens of Chateau de la Trye and then continued well into the night. It was a pleasure to travel to France to photograph Eva and Mathieu’s wedding, they are a lovely couple and they treated me with incredible hospitality and I also had time to visit Paris.

Remember that legal marriages in France must take place at the local town hall by a civil servant. So, while you can have your symbolic or religious ceremony in any picturesque location, the legal aspect will occur in the town hall. Ultimately, whether you choose Paris or a nearby small town, the most important factor is celebrating your love in a way that resonates with you and your partner.
